Acquired in June 2022, the interior demolition of 522-524 Main Street began in earnest in August 2022. While the outer walls, ceilings, and floors were all retained, the building was completely gutted. Multiple layers of flooring were pulled up, asbestos abatement was performed, multiple layers of paneling were methodically plied from the walls down to the studs which themselves were all disassembled and removed, and all existing electrical/HVAC systems/plumbing was completely demolished. All metals & potentially hazardous materials recovered during the demolition process were collected & recycled or otherwise shipped to facilities designed to process such materials.
